In depth
Seedance 2.0 Fast is the economy tier of the Seedance 2.0 generation, callable as dreamina-seedance-2-0-fast-260128. It keeps all three operations — text to video, a supplied first frame, and reference images — and the same 4 to 15 second window, but the resolution menu ends at 720P.
That shorter menu is the whole trade. Two resolutions, 480P and 720P, both billed below the standard Seedance 2.0 figures, and neither reaching the 1080P that 2.0 and 2.5 offer. For storyboards, animatics and social cuts it is the least complicated way to burn through prompt variants.
Three jobs from our 14 September 2026 smoke run cover every operation on this id and all came back as 864x496 H.264 files of 4.04 seconds. The observations below hold those three results plus an October probe that shows what an audio-only reference does.
Prompt sweeps before a shoot
Send twelve variations of the same beat at 480P, watch them back in a grid, and take the two that work up to a larger tier. Drawing at this rate keeps a wide shortlist affordable, and the 4 to 15 second window is enough for a real beat.
Vertical social cuts
720P is plenty for a phone screen, and the prompt, first-frame and reference operations behave as they do on the standard id. Write the camera move as one sentence, keep the shot under eight seconds, and let the audio track fill the ambience.
Reference variants of one product
Pass an inlined reference image and vary only the setting in the prompt. The September run confirmed that a 480p reference request returns a normal MP4 rather than an error, which makes it a cheap way to try a packaging idea in six rooms.

Hands-on notes
Our 14 September 2026 smoke run rendered a 4-second 480p Seedance 2.0 Fast text-to-video job as an 864x496 H.264 MP4 of 4.04 seconds.
The Seedance 2.0 Fast image-to-video job in that run accepted an inlined first frame at 4 seconds and 480p and returned an H.264 MP4.
Seedance 2.0 Fast reference-to-video returned an 864x496 MP4 of 4.04 seconds in the same smoke run.
A Seedance 2.0 Fast reference job carrying only audio and no image or video reference failed rather than producing a clip.

Limits to plan around
- No 1080P: the menu stops at 720P, so a client who needs a large master has to move to Seedance 2.0 or 2.5. The choice cannot be upgraded inside this id after the fact.
- Fifteen seconds is the maximum, as on the standard 2.0 tier, and there is no extension call. Longer shots need Seedance 2.5 and its 30-second window.
- Every clip arrives with a soundtrack, so plan for it. Either describe the sound you want or budget a stripping pass for clips that will sit under library music.
- Request bodies are capped at 1 MiB including Base64 media, which means small JPEGs for inlined first frames and reference images.

Both models are live on OmniaKey and both can serve the same brief. One is billed once per generation from a mode and duration matrix, the other per output second by resolution — and only one of them accepts a reference-driven shot.

There is no single best video model. The right route depends on whether you need a long shot, a faithful first frame, reference images, predictable cost, or a faster production queue.
Read articleFrequently asked questions
How do I call Seedance 2.0 Fast on OmniaKey?
POST to /v1/media/tasks with the model id, type "video", and operation "text_to_video" — or "image_to_video" with a first frame in input.media[] with type "first_frame". Reuse one Idempotency-Key across retries so a timeout never starts a second paid job.
What does Seedance 2.0 Fast cost?
Seedance 2.0 Fast bills $0.03–$0.06 per second of rendered video. Creation pre-charges the requested duration up front from your prepaid balance, and failed or canceled jobs are refunded automatically.
Why does the API return a task id instead of the video?
Video renders take from about a minute to several minutes, so OmniaKey runs every video route through one asynchronous lifecycle. Poll GET /v1/media/tasks/{id} until the status is succeeded, then read the signed asset URL.
What can Seedance 2.0 Fast do that mini cannot?
Both cover text, first-frame and reference jobs at 480P and 720P for 4 to 15 seconds, and the catalog lists Fast above Mini at each resolution. The settings and the cap are the same, so choose between them on the picture you get from your own drafts.
Why is there no 1080P option on this id?
The catalog lists only 480P and 720P for dreamina-seedance-2-0-fast-260128, while Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 add 1080P. Sending 1080P here fails before a job starts, so pick the standard 2.0 id when the deliverable has to be a large frame.
How much does a Fast clip cost?
Billing is per output second at the resolution you ask for, charged from balance when the task is created and refunded if the task fails. The current per-second figures sit on the model page; because the resolution menu stops at 720P, a job here never reaches the 1080P line.
Does Seedance 2.0 Fast accept reference images?
Yes, through reference_to_video with reference_image entries in input.media, and our smoke run passed one inlined at 480p. An audio reference without any image or video is refused, so pair narration with a still even when the still only sets the palette.
Can I use the same prompt I wrote for Seedance 2.5?
Only after a rewrite. ByteDance's guide says the 2.0 generation reads shot numbers instead of timestamp ranges, so a timeline with 0s-2s beat markers will not map one to one. Rename the beats Shot 1, Shot 2, and keep each block short.
