Where it fits
Wan 3.0 Video Prime is the high-speed build of the same Wan 3.0 model on OmniaKey: identical operations, references and audio, with a much shorter end-to-end turnaround.
Reach for Prime when latency or throughput matters, since a 5-second 720P clip came back in about a minute against two minutes on the standard id, and budget $0.078 to $0.38 per second for it.

In depth
Wan 3.0 Video Prime, id wan3.0-video-prime, is the same Alibaba video model served as a faster tier. It takes the identical three operations and the same 2 to 30 second window at 480P, 720P or 1080P; what changes is the rate per output second and, in our tests, how long the queue takes.
That makes the choice narrow and practical. Prime is for the schedule, not for a different look: a matched 5-second 720P text-to-video job finished in 60 to 80 seconds here against 120 to 150 seconds on the standard id, with the same 1280x720 H.264 file at the end.
Everything below comes from the 14 September 2026 smoke set, where Prime completed text, first-frame and reference jobs at 720P. The same week's records include a ratio sweep across five shapes and a reference job that returned a 5.04-second 1280x720 file, and both are quoted in the observations.
Review rounds on a deadline
When three rounds of notes have to be in before a client call, the shorter turnaround is worth the higher rate. Keep the prompt fixed between rounds so each version differs only by the note that was addressed.
Batch renders overnight
Forty short clips finish sooner on the faster tier, which matters when one person has to check every file next morning. Queue them with one job per idea and poll the ids rather than resending anything.
Aspect-ratio variants of one take
Our ratio sweep sent 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4 to text-to-video and reference-to-video, and every job rendered. Cut one master, then re-run the same prompt per shape instead of reframing in the edit.

Hands-on notes
In our 14 September 2026 smoke test, a 5-second 720P Wan 3.0 Video Prime job finished in 60 to 80 seconds and returned a 1280x720 H.264 MP4 of about 5 seconds.
Read the testWan 3.0 Video Prime completed text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video jobs at 720P in that same smoke run.
Read the testWan 3.0 Video Prime returned MP4 files with an AAC audio track even in runs where we had not explicitly asked for audio.
Read the testOur reference-to-video smoke job on Wan 3.0 Video Prime produced a 1280x720 MP4 of 5.04 seconds.
When we sent ratio 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4 requests to Wan 3.0 Video Prime, every text-to-video and reference-to-video job rendered.
05
Limits to plan around
- The rate per output second is higher than the standard Wan 3.0 id at all three resolutions, and the pictures come from the same model, so Prime buys time rather than a different look.
- The faster turnaround is a small sample from one day, not a service promise. Budget on the slower figure and treat an early finish as a bonus.
- Sound arrives by default: our files carried an AAC track even when the request said nothing about audio, so a silent master needs audio false and a check afterwards.

How do I call Wan 3.0 Video Prime on OmniaKey?
POST to /v1/media/tasks with the model id, type "video", and operation "text_to_video" — or "image_to_video" with a first frame in input.media[] with type "first_frame". Reuse one Idempotency-Key across retries so a timeout never starts a second paid job.
What does Wan 3.0 Video Prime cost?
Wan 3.0 Video Prime bills $0.078–$0.38 per second of rendered video. Creation pre-charges the requested duration up front from your prepaid balance, and failed or canceled jobs are refunded automatically.
Why does the API return a task id instead of the video?
Video renders take from about a minute to several minutes, so OmniaKey runs every video route through one asynchronous lifecycle. Poll GET /v1/media/tasks/{id} until the status is succeeded, then read the signed asset URL.
Is Wan 3.0 Video Prime a different model?
No. It serves the same three operations, the same 2 to 30 second window and the same 480P, 720P and 1080P sizes as wan3.0-video. Alibaba positions it as the faster build, and the catalog charges a higher rate per output second for it.
How much faster is Prime in practice?
In our 14 September 2026 smoke set a matched 5-second 720P text-to-video job took 60 to 80 seconds on Prime against 120 to 150 seconds on the standard id. That is one day of runs, so plan with the slower number and watch your own logs.
Which ratios does it accept?
We sent 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3 and 3:4 to both text-to-video and reference-to-video, and every request rendered. Set the ratio in the parameters and let the duration decide the charge; the frame follows the ratio you pick.
Does Prime include audio?
Yes, by default. Our clips had an AAC track even where the request never asked for sound, and the catalog charges one rate per resolution, with or without sound. Send audio false for a silent file, then confirm on the download rather than on the request.
