Replicate Alternative: What Carries Over and How to Switch

If your app calls hosted models such as Nano Banana, GPT Image 2, Seedance 2.5 or Claude, they run on OmniaKey with one key, per-result pricing and automatic refunds when a job fails.

Switching API platforms comes down to three questions: are my models there, how much code changes, and what happens to my bill when a job fails. For apps that call Replicate's hosted official models the short answers are 7 of its 24 featured models, three changes to your code, and nothing at all.

Key points

  • 7 of the 24 models Replicate features run on OmniaKey: Nano Banana 2 and 2.1, GPT Image 2, Seedream 5.0 Lite, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0 and Claude Opus 4.7.
  • Three things change in your code: the endpoint, where the model name goes, and how you fetch the result.
  • You pay per result, not for GPU time, and a failed or cancelled job costs nothing.
  • Keep Replicate for your own models and fine-tunes, webhooks, and FLUX and other open models, which OmniaKey does not offer.

Why switch to OmniaKey?

One key for chat and media

55 chat models and 29 image, video and music models share one key and one balance. Chat works through OpenAI-, Anthropic- and Gemini-compatible endpoints, so Claude Code, Codex and Cursor connect directly.

Failed jobs cost nothing

A job that fails or is cancelled is refunded automatically. Every create call carries an idempotency key, so a retry never charges you twice.

Pay per result, not for GPU time

Images are priced per call and video per second of output, in US dollars, on each model page. There is no setup or idle time to pay for.

No silent model swaps

If a model is unavailable, the request fails instead of quietly running on another model. Prompt and response bodies are not stored by default.

  • FLUX 1.1 Pro, dev and schnell
  • Imagen 4 Ultra

The counts cover the 24 models Replicate features on its homepage and official collection. The "Close matches" row is the nearest model on OmniaKey where Replicate's exact model is not here; see the full model list. If your product runs your own model, a fine-tune, an open model from the last row or depends on webhooks, keep that part on Replicate.

How do you switch?

Three things change. The model name moves from the URL into the request body, and results come from one task endpoint.

Here is the whole job on OmniaKey, with your key in OMNIAKEY_API_KEY:

python
import os
import time
import requests

API = "https://api.omniakey.com"
HEADERS = {
    "Authorization": f"Bearer {os.environ['OMNIAKEY_API_KEY']}",
    "Content-Type": "application/json",
}

# 1. Create the job. The Idempotency-Key makes a retried request safe.
task = requests.post(
    f"{API}/v1/media/tasks",
    headers={**HEADERS, "Idempotency-Key": "switch-from-replicate-001"},
    json={
        "model": "gemini-nano-banana-2.1",
        "type": "image",
        "operation": "generate",
        "input": {"prompt": "a lighthouse on a rocky coast at dusk"},
        "parameters": {"aspect_ratio": "1:1", "image_size": "1K"},
    },
).json()

# 2. Poll until the job finishes.
while task["status"] in ("queued", "processing"):
    time.sleep(3)
    task = requests.get(f"{API}/v1/media/tasks/{task['id']}", headers=HEADERS).json()

if task["status"] != "succeeded":
    raise SystemExit(task.get("error"))

# 3. Download the image before its signed link expires.
open("out.jpg", "wb").write(requests.get(task["assets"][0]["url"]).content)
print(task["id"], task["assets"][0]["mime_type"], task["assets"][0]["byte_size"])

We ran this on October 19, 2026 with Nano Banana 2.1, which Replicate lists as google/nano-banana-2.1: it returned a 1024×1024 JPEG in 23.5 seconds. The full request reference is in the media docs.

FAQ

Can I use Replicate and OmniaKey at the same time?

Yes. They are separate accounts and keys, so you can move the hosted models listed above and keep your own models on Replicate.

Does OmniaKey support webhooks?

Not today. You poll the task until it finishes, as in the code above. A job usually takes seconds for images and a few minutes for video.

Is OmniaKey cheaper than Replicate?

It depends on the model. Each OmniaKey model page shows its current USD price, so compare the models you actually run on the pricing page.

Can I call Claude or GPT with the same key?

Yes. Point an OpenAI SDK at https://api.omniakey.com/v1, or use the Anthropic and Gemini base URLs. One key and one balance cover chat and media.
